Olympian to speak at business breakfast

Seaford entrepreneurs can hear from a true fighter at the next Frankston and Mornington Peninsula business breakfast.

The guest speaker at the June event will be Alisa Camplin, who became Australia’s first female winner of a gold medal in the Winter Olympics.

The free skier managed to land a series of tricks, including a triple twisting double somersault, at the event in 2002, despite having broken both her ankles six weeks previously.

The athlete also won a bronze medal at the 2006 Olympics just a few months after major knee surgery, as well as winning several World Cups and championship titles.

During the breakfast, Alisa will discuss overcoming setbacks and explain how attendees can push themselves to new levels. She will also discuss her business experience working for IBM Australia and sitting on the boards of major organisations.

The business breakfasts are also a good opportunity for company owners to promote themselves to others in the district, so participants might like to think about using a print company to create small leaflet about their enterprise to hand out to others.

The event is likely to prove popular with entrepreneurs across the area, so people are encouraged to book early. Discounted early bird tickets are available until this coming Wednesday.

Tickets can be booked through the Frankston Business Network website.
