Opportunities for Richmond artists to expand their creative talents

Melbourne Art Class (MAC) will be starting several new classes for both experienced and beginner artists in the near future.

MAC offers courses and single workshops to adults, teenagers, and children. The studio evolved from an art community project, initiated by the Uniting Church, and run by local artist Marco Corsini. After its initial success, Corsini took over the project, using the Enderby Studio behind the church, and employing other artists from various fields to teach with him. Today the studio has four other teachers in addition to Corsini.

The studio offers several different courses. As well as general courses on watercolours, oil painting and art therapy, others on offer in the third quarter of 2017 include a six-week course in life drawing, a weekly Tuesday morning drawing and painting class, and a workshop in floral design for weddings.

The wide variety of courses and workshops on offer could be a boon to enterprising artists. They might market their art with the help of local printing companies, who could transform their art into postcards, calendars, or holiday cards.

The MAC Enderby studio is at 314 Church Street, Richmond, on the corner of Darlington Parade. Interested parties can make enquiries by emailing Lauren Ottaway at hub@melbourneartclass.com or by clicking on the contact form on the ‘About Us’ page of the MAC website.
