Petting zoo comes to Prahran Market

July 17, 2017 by

The Peninsula Mobile Farm will be at the Prahran Market every Tuesday during the school holidays.

Residents of Prahran and other nearby suburbs are encouraged to bring their children along for a chance to see baby farm animals up close, and to pet, hold and help feed them.

The Prahran Market, which offers locally grown fruit and vegetables, and the widest organic range in Melbourne, will be hosting the baby animals as part of its holiday entertainment. There will be guinea pigs, calves, lambs and kids, as well as bunnies, chickens and a Border Collie named Pepper.

The animal farm, which is completely mobile, is self-contained with all its own handlers. Parents are assured that all the animals will be supervised at all times by members of their own staff, who will introduce the animals to children of all ages, as well as to adults.

The Peninsula Mobile Farm is available for festivals and markets, as well as for smaller gatherings such as private children’s parties. Schools might also like to book an event with the mobile farm, perhaps as a unique way of fundraising. In such cases, local printing companies would be able to provide flyers, brochures and even banner printing.

The market petting zoo will take place in the central Market Square tomorrow, July 18, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. The cost is $5 per person.
