The Australian Marketing Institute will be presenting a 2-day workshop entitled Principles of Marketing from August 8-9 at Cliftons Melbourne. Print companies in the nearby Melbourne suburb of Thornbury know the importance of marketing and will be paying attention to what is revealed at this workshop.

The workshop will be studying “the principles that underpin marketing as a philosophy or concept” in relation to such things as customers, marketing environment and positioning. Those taking part in the workshop will also be looking at the 7Ps of marketing: product price, place, promotion, people, process and physical evidence. Examples of specific issues will be provided by the attendees. The workshop qualifies as 16 hours of classroom instruction for those working on the AMI’s Certified Practising Marketer program. It will be two days of intensive hands-on and video training and group brainstorming.

Topics that will be discussed at the workshop are:

• What is Marketing?
• The Marketing Mix
• Current Issues in Marketing
• Marketing Environment
• Marketing Research
• Segmenting, Targeting and Positioning
• Consumers
• Positioning through the 7Ps
• Planning

Fees for the workshop are $750 for AMI members working towards the CPM, $790 for AMI members and $980 for non-members.
