Richmond shows can-do attitude to art

Residents of Richmond need not go far to learn the art of making things from resin, as Candu Creative will be holding several workshops on this in its Richmond studio.

Workshops include resin art, moulded jewellery, and the making of items such as stools or tea trays from resin. All materials will be supplied, as well as protective gear. Since resin is a chemical, participants must be over the age of 18.

The workshops comprise three parts. First will be a tutorial session to learn about the resin process and how to mix the colours and effects. This is followed by the practical application in which participants choose their materials, pigments and moulds before making their own items. The final part is to polish and finish off each item, with advice from instructors about future projects.

As the festive season approaches, this could be the ideal opportunity to make personal gifts. Companies can also organise private workshops with Candu Creative for corporate team building, or to create corporate gifts or promotional products in conjunction with local printing services.

The next workshop – Small Homewares – will be on Saturday, December 2, from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm, at Candu Creative, 40-42 Swan Street, Richmond. Ticket prices are $120 per person, or $108 each if two or more participants book at the same time. Bookings can be made through the Candu Creative website.
