Rocking the arts in Rockingham

August 27, 2017 by

The Rockingham Arts Centre will soon celebrate the vibrant arts in this area by hosting a free open day.

This promises to be the perfect opportunity for residents of Rockingham to learn more about what is available from their own arts centre. They can explore the

centre, see what spaces are for hire and even join in some of the activities being showcased.

Partners in this interactive event include Rockingham Regional Arts, Mixed Palette, Friends of Rockingham Arts Centre, and others. Thanks to their collective sponsorship, visitors can enjoy such things as making a collage or dream catcher, participating in a drum circle or yarn-bombing, trying their hand at squeegee painting or rock painting, as well as enjoying many other displays and demonstrations.

Creative groups hoping to use the centre’s various spaces in the future will be able to see each room and its contents, which will help them to plan their own activities. Whenever there art arts festivals, local printing companies are usually called on for banner printing, flyers and even logo design for new ventures.

The open day will be on Sunday, August 27, from 9:00 am till 1:00 pm. The centre is at 11 Kent Street, Rockingham. More details can be obtained by calling the centre on 9527 0734 between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm weekdays, or by emailing
