Seaford among Victoria’s suburbs with good value

Seaford has managed to earn a good spot in a recently revealed list of Melbourne’s top performing suburbs.

Data from the study has revealed that Seaford has achieved an annual growth to $664,897 in 2017, which earns the suburb the 13th spot on the list.

According to Daniel McGlashan, real estate agent at Eview Group, Seaford has experienced a rise in house prices mainly due to the increase in young families moving into the suburb. He indicated that Seaford is attractive to many buyers from the inner bayside suburbs, due to its relatively affordable pricing, even if house prices have increased by more than $100,000 a year. A three-bedroom house at 1 Elisdon Drive has previously received as many as 10 offers for around $780,000. This is more than double of its price of $318,000 in 2008.

Although Seaford’s performance is not as impressive as other more affluent suburbs such as Middle Park and St Kilda, the house prices in Seaford are by far more affordable.

Easy access to the freeway and beaches also increases Seaford’s appeal to home buyers. Glashan also added that a couple of million-dollar house sales have managed to improve the reputation and profile of the suburb.

Business cards are a useful means to get in touch with real estate agents who will prove to be helpful in the search of a house, especially in Victoria’s tough housing market.
