Luncheons, bushwalks, movies and Bollywood dancing are among a long list of activities to be enjoyed by Box Hill South seniors during the Whitehorse Seniors Festival in October.

The programme, according to Cr. Bill Bennett, offers educational and enjoyable low-cost or free events to suit seniors from throughout the City of Whitehorse. He explains:

“The festival is always a popular event and the programme is jam packed with craft activities, fitness classes, ideas on new ways to have fun and enjoy yourself, and some very practical classes like first aid for babies and children.”

The events, which have been detailed on flyer and brochure printing, have been put together by the Victorian Seniors Festival and Whitehorse Council.

Cr. Bennett said that by taking part, seniors will learn more about what is on offer for them throughout Whitehorse venues. He added that the festival was an opportunity for seniors to get out and about and try new and exciting things that they had not had the chance to try before.

The list of activities include an evening for music theatre lovers starring Michael Cormick and Rachael Beck singing hits such as Les Miserables, Chicago and The Phantom of the Opera.

Also among the many events being staged throughout the month of October is a Bollywood Dance and a Laughter Class.
