Seniors’ service changes to be addressed in morning talk

April 28, 2017 by

Seniors and those caring for them in and around Tuart Hill, including those living in nearby Balcatta, may be aware of the changes occurring in aged care and disability services across Australia nationally. An information session will be held to outline these changes and provide updates on how they will affect these senior folk and people living with disability.

The changes are being made in areas such as My Aged Care and the National Disability Insurance Scheme. These changes not only affect care in the family home but also those living in residential aged care facilities.

This event is being presented by the City of Stirling, which has been assisting the elderly with services in the home for over 30 years and they also offer a number of activities and events such as social outings and recreational and craft events aimed specifically at older residents in the community. Information sessions such as this would probably use brochures listing information on services available.

The information session for seniors will be held on Wednesday, May 10 at the Osborne Park Community Centre on 11 Royal Street in Tuart Hill. The session will begin at 9:30 am and conclude at 11:00 am. This will be of interest to senior folk as well as their family members and carers.
