Preparations are well on the way for the presentation of the 2016 Make Smoking History Canning Show.

Event catalogues provide a comprehensive list of fun activities including roving entertainment, a 16-hour stage show, an impressive sideshow alley featuring show bags, rides and games, and a host of interesting and innovative stalls.

Heritage FM 107.3 will also broadcast live from the two-day event.

Canning Agricultural, Horticultural and Recreational Society Executive Officer Dianne Begg said this year’s show would also mark the official opening of the recently reconstructed Canning Showgrounds.

She said thanks to the support of dedicated sponsors the community will be able to enjoy entertainment, activities and displays as well as a fabulous fireworks display, exhibits, stilt walking fun, petting farms, face painting and demonstrations.

The final night will bring the sound of the Bee Gees to centre stage, performed by tribute band Saturday Night Fever.

Full colour brochures advertising the event also list free rides all day on the carousel for children and, according to Ms. Begg, this year’s surprise inclusions will feature a silent disco show by Danger Cabaret, of the Fringe World Festival.

She said the Sydney or the Bush outback agricultural show will also return to transport people back to the days when the nation was shaped and Aussies rode on the back of a sheep.

The 2016 Make Smoking History Canning Show will be held at the Canning Showgrounds on November 4 and 5.
