Sustainability and gardening festival for Prahran

August 18, 2017 by

The City of Stonnington will soon host its Spring into Gardening festival in Prahran’s Victoria Gardens.

This annual one-day event will be held in October. However, individuals or organisations wishing to have a stall at the festival need to apply before 5:00 pm on Friday, September 1.

An application does not automatically guarantee a stall, because each application will be examined and a decision made according to various criteria. The emphasis is on recycling and sustainable gardening, and stallholders need to adhere to the themes of the event, as well as conform to certain standards. For example, lightweight, single-use plastic bags are not allowed to be used, and stall displays must use recyclable, biodegradable products and materials.

Successful applicants will be contacted to pay for their stall before final confirmation of their acceptance. Fees for stalls vary between $204 and $408, depending on the size. The stall fee includes marquee, trestle table, chairs, power and signage. Additional signs and banner printing can be arranged through local print companies.

A stallholder fee may be waived if the organisation is resident within the City of Stonnington, or if it is a relevant and registered nonprofit organisation.

The Spring into Gardening festival will be held in Victoria Gardens, 361 High Street, Prahran, on Sunday, October 8. Interested parties can apply through the City of Stonnington’s stallholder application webpage.
