Tasty cuisine attracts visitors to Village Green

Caboolture’s newly completed greenspace has welcomed a new event into the central business district.

`Food Trucks @ The Village Green’ with its food vans, artists and musicians, has been launched to entice locals and visitors into the centre’s heart fortnightly on a Saturday.

Colourful banner printing, music and the aroma of cuisine are among many drawcards to the event, which is being touted as a means of stimulating the local nighttime economy and reinvigorating retail activity.

The concept is not new, according to organiser David Bostock, who said similar food scenes are being experienced across the country. He explained:

“With the huge growing number of food vendors currently operating at food markets throughout the Moreton Bay Region, there isn’t a shortage of quality purveyors, growers and internationally inspired Street Food cooks and chefs.”

The ability to smell and taste food directly from the trucks has been embraced by people everywhere and Bostock says Caboolture is no different. He said the initiative is something that can bring greater numbers of people into the centre of Caboolture, as well as nurture a true community spirit.

Bostock said by attending the event, locals will be enjoying authentic eats as well as supporting many local businesses.

Food Trucks @ The Village Green was launched on June 2 and will now be held fortnightly from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Saturdays, so the next one will be this Saturday, June 16.
