Tasty treats on offer in Box Hill

Food lovers from Box Hill South will be spoilt for choice at the end of the month with the area’s first ever Sustainable Food and Wine Fair.

The event will take place at the town hall in Box Hill and will see some of the region’s best food and wine on offer for visitors.

Well-known chefs Cory Campbell and Emma Dean will be on hand to share their secrets and cook up a storm for guests to taste. Emma was the winner of the 2013 MasterChef Australia series, has a love of foraging for natural ingredients, and recently published her first cookbook. Cory is the head chef at Melbourne’s Vue de Monde restaurant. The establishment is thought to be Australia’s most sustainable restaurant, featuring technology in the kitchen that does not use gas or naked flames.

There will also be tips for making healthy snacks for children and creating a garden even in a small space. Fair-goers will also find plenty to take home with stallholders offering food and drink to taste and purchase.

Anyone inspired to create their own dishes after the event could think about using a printing company to create a personalised recipe book to use in the kitchen, or even hand down as a family keepsake.

The Sustainable Food and Wine Fair is open from 10am to 4pm on Sunday March 30th and entry is free.
