Top vocalist to lead Christmas Carols in the Park

Accomplished international vocalist Samantha Shaw will entertain festive crowds from Mona Vale and throughout the Northern Beaches area at this year’s annual Christmas Carols in the Park.

Presented by the Rotary Club of Upper Northern Beaches, the night of carolling will be held at Mona Vale Village Park.

According to a spokesman for the organisers, the event is now into its 14th year, during which time it has become something of a Pittwater tradition.

He said this year, the many families that attend will be treated to a great show starring Samantha Shaw and including many of the all-time favourite Christmas songs, which are sure to stir the Christmas spirit in everyone.

During the past two decades, Shaw has been working in London’s session scene and with high-profile UK vocal groups as a singer, as well as being a backing vocalist for artists like Sarah Brightman, Donny Osmond and Robbie Williams. She also sang on TV commercials, jingles, recordings, movie soundtracks and concerts.

The accomplished performer has also trodden the boards in theatre, working for top producers including Andrew Lloyd Webber and Cameron Macintosh, as well as being featured on poster printing for appearances singing with The London Symphony Orchestra, The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the BBC Concert Orchestra.

Shaw will join the Pittwater Uniting Church band and other local musicians and singers for Carols in the Park at Mona Vale on December 16. Admission is free.
