TV singer to perform at charity ball

March 3, 2015 by

X Factor winner Samantha Jade will be the featured artist at the 2015 International Women’s Day Purple Hearts Ball.

The inaugural event is being held to raise funds for research into women’s cancers, with the ultimate aim to find a cure.

An estimated 1,000 people – such as well-known Western Australia personalities and supporters from throughout the Perth metropolitan region, including Osborne Park – are expected to attend the gala evening which is themed Make It Happen.

Sponsored by Westpac, the Ball will coincide with International Women’s Day and provide an opportunity to honour and celebrate the brave women who have been affected by cancer.

According to a Team Purple Hearts spokesperson, the night will also acknowledge women of future generations and provide a positive message of cures, treatments and preventions that medical research may deliver in years to come.

Performing at the ball holds special significance for Samantha Jade, whose mother died of cancer in 2014.

Author and renowned public speaker Rabia Siddique will host the event, to be held at the Perth Convention and Entertainment Centre on March 7th.

Entertainment will also be provided by comedian Famous Sharron, the Magnolia Jones Band, and Amanda Dee and Soothe.

The night will feature an auction and raffle, with the top prize of a pearl necklace worth $11,500.

Future flyer printing will detail Team Purple Heart’s next fundraising event, the Weekend to End Women’s Cancers 60km walk, to be held on March 28th and 29th.
