Vintage and antique machinery on show

October 12, 2016 by

Campbelltown Steam and Machinery Museum will be open for visitors to observe the operation of a variety of industrial and agricultural machinery at the Oil, Steam and Kerosene Field Day.

Machinery being exhibited will include vintage and antique tractors and oil engines, as well as an industrial railway. Other equipment used for pumping water and generating electricity will also be on display.

This is an opportunity for visitors to learn about the history of past machinery and technologies, and enjoy a day out. Food and drink will be available for purchase and barbecue facilities are also offered.

The Steam and Machinery Museum is constantly restoring old machinery that comes its way, while maintaining their current exhibits and providing upkeep on the working railway on the grounds.

Other attractions over the weekend will include free rides on machinery and vehicles. The boiler house and oil engine pens will be open to view equipment being used, while a Grand Parade of vehicles led by a traction engine, wood sawing and a train ride are popular events. It is likely that banner and poster printing, promotional products and flyers will be used for this event.

The field day will take place on this weekend, October 15 and 16, from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm at the Campbelltown Steam and Machinery Museum at 86 Menangle Road, Menangle Park. Entry is open to all.
