Weekend jazz in botanical surroundings of Springvale

The Cafe Vita et Flores cafe will host the New Orleans Swamp Dogs with their ‘Traditional-Dixieland Jazz’ on the deck this weekend.

It might seem like an unusual place to listen to jazz, but the Springvale Botanical Cemetery is a tranquil place to relax in Melbourne’s Greater Dandenong area. In addition to being the largest memorial park in Victoria, it is also the home of the Cafe Vita et Flores.

Set amidst lush greenery and shady trees, the cafe also houses a florist and shop, as well as seven function rooms for corporate events and weddings. Much use could be made of local printing services for invitations, corporate gifts and holiday cards with full colour printing .

Food fare at Cafe Vita et Flores ranges from cafe-style breakfasts to healthy lunches to daily specials, as well as traditional teas, coffees and cakes.

The jazz performance will take place this Saturday, 29 April, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. The group will play again for Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 14, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Advance booking is not necessary.

The Cafe can be found at 600 Princes Highway and is open from 8:30 am on weekdays, or from 9:00 am on weekends, and closes at 5:00 pm. Amenities on offer include free Wi-Fi, and a digital jukebox.
