The City of Maribyrnong is presenting a talk entitled ‘Networking and Other Forms of Marketing for Business Growth’ this evening.

Hosted by Tim Smith, National Development Manager Foreign Exchange Brokerage at Sable International, several experienced professionals will deliver tips and ideas on how small business owners can grow their trade to the next level.

Marketing professionals will discuss:

• How to reap the benefits from networking events with the proper follow-up techniques, and how initial introductions need to be parlayed into relationships, especially when potential clients have shown interest in the product or service on offer.

• Marketing strategies and tactics, such as tips on what works and the traps in the different marketing options.

• Word-of-mouth advertising, and how current and past clients assist in growing awareness about your business and how to maximise this opportunity.

• Networking strategies, and how this is all about more than wining and dining potential clients, getting business cards and developing new contacts.

The talk is part of the City Council Small Business Festival scheduled for the entire month of August. The festival provides advice and information to small business owners. You can get more information on the festival from the Council website.

It takes place tonight (August 7) from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the City Council Reception Room, 61 Napier Street, Footscray VIC 3011. Guests can register for the networking and marketing talk on the Eventbrite website.
